On 12th March at 9am, I’ll be presenting the snappily-titled The Business of Web Design: Latest Trends in Web Design and Web-based Applications lecture at the University of Nottingham. This forms part of a great season of presentations for the Development of Digital Business module that also includes lectures from the likes of Microsoft, IBM and a plethora of others.
Carsonified’s Future of Web Design 08 is now taking Early Bird bookings. The conference (which boasts some excellent speakers and topics) is at the same great London venue as 2007, and takes place on 17th April, with some great workshops the following day.
Hopefully you will thank me that I do not have time, energy or desire to write up my lengthy moans about the big Arctic Monkeys super-gig I attended at the weekend.
Well, that had to be the best @Media to date. The general consensus was that this year’s conference was a belter on all counts, and personally I thought the presentations were particularly optimistic and positive. Again I’ve got my post-conference verve and spirit back, and can’t wait to plough into the workload tomorrow.

Quick bit of conference news for your eyes and brains. I will be joining wise, Yoda-esque, collaborator Jason Arber of the all-conquering Pixelsurgeon for the “What is the future of web design?” panel at the Future Of Web Design conference in London on 18th April. I will be trying to suggest that the future is all about jet-packs, robotic women and love pills, and will probably get ejected.
Finally, the sequel. Where Beginning CSS Web Development offered A New Hope, the Empire now Strikes Back with Pro CSS Techniques, a darker, more complex twist in the grand CSS fairy tale.
